TEACH THE BENEFITS OF YOGA TO PARENTS AND CHILDREN
Blossom & Berry believe that everyone benefits from nurturing touch, massage and yoga and we have developed a range of teacher training courses for older babies and children. These training courses enable you to continue to teach an older range of babies and children and extend your practice with new and exciting classes. They can also help you target new clients who may not have enjoyed massage and yoga with their children.
Story Stretch Children’s Yoga Teacher Course
This course uses yoga inspired movements, massage, music, games, drama and lots of imagination to help children access the benefits of positive touch, gentle exercise and relaxation. Lessons are designed to be undertaken with parents and children together but it is also possible to teach the course if you are a qualified childcare professional within small childcare settings. We welcome enquiries from parents, teachers, nursery staff and childminders wishing to incorporate yoga and massage within a nursery setting.
A typical Story Stretch Yoga Inspired Class will include aspects of breathing, yoga-inspired poses, massage and relaxation. All classes use stories as a base to help inspire children’s imaginations and participation. The course promotes the importance of teaching children the benefits of stretching the body, free movement and having “quiet” or relaxation time. The stories and session structure has been used in a number of settings from workshops, private classes and within nursery settings with fantastic feedback;

ANATOMY, PHYSIOLOGY, SENSORY INTEGRATION
HISTORY AND BENEFITS OF YOGA AND THEORIES OF ATTACHMENT.
LEARNING THE STORY STRETCH ROUTINE INCLUDING HOW TO STRUCTURE THE COURSE, YOGA POSES FOR CHILDREN AND OTHER RELAXATION IDEAS FOR CHILDREN.
TEACHING PLANS FOR A SIX WEEK COURSE PLUS FURTHER IDEAS FOR CLASSES.
HOW TO TEACH SMALL GROUPS
MARKETING AND BUSINESS
Course materials include our teaching manual, lesson plans for a six-week course and films of mini-lectures on subjects covered on the course.
Entry requirements for Story Stretch Instructor Course
Any qualification in baby massage or yoga or childcare/early years education.
An interest in working with parents and babies.
A good command of the language in which you will be teaching and excellent communication skills.
A positive and motivated attitude to study and business.
Accreditation
All our baby massage and yoga courses are recognised by Westminster Indemnity Insurance. All courses are also accredited by Blossom & Berry. Training is of a very high standard. Gayle Berry has written and designed all course materials and has a PGCE in Teaching and Delivering Learning to post 16 sector. Gayle has ten years experience as a teacher and is also the author of a successful book “Baby Massage-Expert know-how at your fingertips”. She has worked on numerous media projects in the field.
Timescales for study
