Here is a great way to welcome your clients with a folding A4 card with space for parent and baby names and a welcome message on the other side

We have created a checklist for you around health & safety and running a group professionally. This is useful if you are setting up your baby massage and yoga classes and it is also phrased for use with wider playgroups that we cover in our business extension course, Growing Babies & Business With Love

You can download the checklist here

Here is an additional recording that Gayle has created for you if you wish to share it at the end of your classes with some words around the importance of love.

First Aid Training

Consider becoming first aid qualified โ€“ paediatric first aid and adult first aid. It’s prudent to have basic first aid when holding groups. These courses might be suitable for some of you looking to have basic first aid training. This is not a requirement of this course but it’s an excellent idea. As we do not look after babies without their parents, you don’t need to have children and adult first aid but you might wish to do both so you are prepared. Some venues may ask for a certificate of first aid as a necessity but this is variable.

Here are some details below of basic courses and fully qualified courses.

Adding Extras into Your Classes

Many teachers talk about adding extras into baby massage classes etc

I wanted to clarify that this is if you have a background in play for children already. Adding play activities without training can be harmful to children as it must be age-appropriate and there is first aid issues etc. Some teachers do add activities but you must have training. Simple craft activities aimed at parents may be appropriate but be mindful of what they are

If you would like further training on play we have a course called nurture play which covers gentle baby led play which is age-appropriate and taught by Caroline Gartland who is a play therapist.

We teach baby massage and yoga as our qualification. I believe that keeping baby massage and yoga as a discrete class has the most benefit for attachment building and that would always be my recommendation as other things can distract.

Any other activities must be added on with further training and additional insurance, first aid etc. I know many of you have a background in ECD which would cover you for this.

I love seeing all your amazing ideas and creativity in your classes but it’s most important that babies are safe.
