Hints And Tips For Half Term!- Connect, Love and Grow

Hello Everyone,

Depending on where you are in the UK will depend on when your half term week is, but whenever it falls we are here to help you. Whether your precious one is really little or your tinker is already in school. We want to provide you with just a few ideas to inspire you. If you are lucky enough to be at home with the children, if not perhaps your babysitter/childminder would love to hear some ideas.

Arts and Crafts- For all ages!

Getting creative with your kids is a fantastic way to connect with them. You begin to understand where their talent lies, how they see the world and when paint gets involved- yes there will be mess- but there will surely be smiles all round! If you cover the kitchen with old newspaper, there is nothing you can’t do to entertain them. Arts and crafts supplies are available cheaply from a lot of major supermarkets, (click the link here for more info). We found a great website that had plenty of ideas of where to begin- (Click here for more info.)

Get Out Doors

The benefits of health and fitness and ten fold and we are constantly fed new and crazy ideas of how to stay fit. Perhaps all we really need to do is head back to basics, get outside in nature with the kids, big or small and enjoy the great outdoors. Armed with a packed lunch and some warm layers, why not head on a simple hike/walk/trek. . Where ever you are in the UK, there will surely be an incredible walk to enjoy on your doorstep. Click here for more info. Safety is always an issue, of course, you want to make sure you are in control of the situation and everyone is safe and happy, learn a few techniques to stay safe on walks here. One more suggestion under this category is to visit one of the ariel tree courses across the UK. They are safe, fun and challenging for everyone. Visit the website on this link for more info.

Cooking and Baking

If it’s raining outside then why not stay cosy indoors and get into the kitchen and let the kids go a little wild (In a controlled and supervised environment of course!) From classic American cupcakes, homemade pasta to banana bread, with some cheap and healthy ingredients you can teach your children about nutrition and set them up for life with some valuable life skills. There are a load of great ideas for recipes on this website.

Yoga

“To enjoy good health, to bring true happiness to one’s family, to bring peace to all, one must first discipline and control one’s own mind. If a man can control his mind he can find the way to Enlightenment, and all wisdom and virtue will naturally come to him “-Buddha. How beautiful is that? It reminds us that yoga is such and incredible power, a force of nature to help us focus our minds and bodies to work in alignment. This concept works for everyone, not just adults. Studies have down some amazing results when yoga has been introduced at a young age. You can train to become a baby yoga teacher with us! That way, every half term and holiday you can head to the mat and enjoy sharing the peace and tranquility of yoga, stretch and play with your children.

We hope this has been helpful to you. We are here to inspire, help and guide you. Please message us or email us with your questions and queries and we would be happy to answer.
